Welcome to the Reef House at Casa Paraiso

Tucked away in Xcalak, a charming fishing hamlet that remains one of the few untouched sanctuaries along the Mexican Caribbean coast, our beachfront property, The Reef House, is located at the southernmost tip of the Yucatan Peninsula, in Quintana Roo. It's a mere 6 miles from the Belize border.

The Reef House boasts three distinctive units, thoughtfully designed to cater to discerning travellers seeking a distinctive and remarkable experience.

In line with our dedication to eco-friendliness, we offer you an "off-grid" adventure, with breezy accommodations where the refreshing winds from the Caribbean Sea replace traditional air conditioning, crafting a serene and open atmosphere.

Immerse yourself in a myriad of activities, from fly fishing for Permit, Bonefish & Tarpon to deep-sea adventures. Swim, dive, snorkel, or kayak in the turquoise Caribbean Sea. The Meso-American reef, the second largest barrier reef on the globe, adorns Xcalak's coastline, inviting you to a vibrant aquatic world. Revel in the colourful bird species, explore ancient Mayan ruins, engage in stargazing, or simply unwind on our private, immaculate white-sand beach.

EJourney into the Xcalak Reef National Marine Park (Parque Nacional Arrecifes de Xcalak). The protected marine sanctuary teems with aquatic life, establishing Xcalak as a premier destination for both fly fishing and underwater exploration.

The Reef House provides the perfect retreat to de-stress, disconnect from the hustle of the world, and reconnect with nature.

Our Journey to Casa Paraiso:

Casa Paraiso's journey began with Jim and his son, Chase. Jim, a seasoned fishing guide from Florida, and Chase, known for his fishing prowess in Alaska, discovered the allure of Xcalak. Instead of their usual Caribbean winter getaways, they were captivated by the unparalleled fly fishing experiences in Xcalak. Lisa, Jim's wife and the heart of Casa Paraiso, was enchanted by Xcalak's serene ambiance, stunning sunrises, and starry nights. This untouched fishing village, with its vast offerings, led the family to purchase Casa Paraiso in the fall of 2021.
